Celebrate the 81th birthday of our ship MARY A. WHALEN with two options: As of 8:00am, come make art inspired by our ship. As of 1:00pm, we offer free public tours of our ship.
Are you a painter, sketcher, illustrator, poet, photographer? Come create work inspired by MARY and our evocative maritime location. Find colleagues who are similarly inspired. We expect many plein air painters, and the Urban Sketchers are involved. We can offer digital exhibit space in our e-museum Red Hook WaterStories for work created that day.
TankerTours allow you to touch history, and learn about the ship's work, hear tales of the crew and get inside the MARY's special interior including the engine room and stunning galley, learn about the bell and jingle system and more.
