Sloop Clearwater public sails.

  • Pier 11, Atlantic Basin Clinton Wharf Brooklyn, NY 11231 USA (map)

Sign up for a public sail on the famous sloop Clearwater leaving from the Mary Whalen. These sails have been changed to full fare cost, not pay what you can. 45 passengers max. Reserve at https://bit.ly/clearwaterPSNY. Once a sail is booked up, it disappears from their calendar. Act quick to get your space!

There are two sails today: 1:00 to 3:30pm and 5:30 to 8:00pm

When the Clearwater is not out sailing, she will be tied alongside the Mary Whalen; an added feature of PortSide’s TankerTime.

More about the Clearwater from their website “In 1966, folk music legend and environmental activist Pete Seeger, in despair over the pollution of his beloved Hudson River, announced plans to “build a boat to save the river.” Seeger, along with many other concerned individuals, believed that a majestic replica of the sloops that sailed the Hudson in the 18th and 19th centuries would bring people to the river where they could experience its beauty and be moved to preserve it.”
