Every year since hurricane Sandy, on the same day as Sandy, rain or shine, Red Hook holds the raucous, creative, family-friendly Barnacle Parade.

 Right now we have no plans to make a float, but you can walk with us (ideally wearing a WaterStories costume).  If you have ideas or want to do something for us, please talk to us!

PortSide Crew & Friends ready for the 2024 parade (Shipcat Chiclet stayed home)

 We don’t yet know the Barnacle Parade Committee’s theme this year, but it sure to be something clever.  In the past the parade started in Coffee Park and looped through Red Hook ending on Pioneer Street - the block with the pedestrian entrance to the port near the Mary Whalen.  We expect this year will be the same.
The PortSide contingent will gather at the Mary and walk over to the parade.
