Seeking Red Hook input for a school trip on Thursday, 3/17, 7am to 1pm.

CAStrips will bring 30 students from the Houston international high school Awty to learn about and help Red Hook resiliency.  The students will see a presentation about hurricane Sandy, spend 2 hours distributing a flood prep postcard around Red Hook, and after that, give us a debrief about the neighborhood that we will post in our virtual museum Red Hook WaterStories. 2022 is the 10th anniversary of hurricane Sandy!

Live in Red Hook and want to help?  We seek:

  • HS students and adults to join each pod of Awty students going around Red Hook

  • a resident of NYCHA who was here during Sandy to speak about that experience

  • people willing to comment on the postcard we are creating.

  • Help setting up

For volunteers that day, set up 7-9am. Speakers at 9am. Info distribution 11am-1pm. Your lunch is included.
