Brooklyn Utopias: Along the Canal

GOWANUS by Leslie Kerby

The multi-site exhibition, presented by Arts Gowanus and the Old Stone House & Washington Park features artwork of a diverse group of over 200 local artists. Printed on banners, the work hangs on the fences surrounding Red Hook’s Coffey Park and Park Slope’s J.J. Byrne Playground.  Additionally, there is an installation inside the Old Stone House.

Complimenting the artists’ work are banners that highlight local people and organizations that are actively working towards a better Brooklyn - including PortSide.

The opening event in Coffey Park (Saturday, April 9, 12 to 5 pm) and at the J.J. Byrne Playground/Old Stone House (the same time the following day) will include outdoor bazaars with art and performances by local artists.

All exhibitions will be on view from April 10 to June 26.

Greater details about the exhibit Brooklyn Utopias: Along the Canal, including a full list of participating artists, curators, organizations, and events can be found on the artsgowanus.org website.
