The famous sloop Clearwater created by Pete Seeger, will be tied up to the Mary A. Whalen today, except when she is taking school students sailing in the morning. There are tours of Clearwater at the dock from 4:30 - 7:00pm. There are a limited number of spaces on public sails later in the week. Reserve at https://bit.ly/clearwaterPSNY or QR code below. Once the sail is booked up, it disappears from their calendar.
From May 27th to June 2nd, the famous sloop Clearwater created by Pete Seeger will be based here, tied up next to our Mary A. Whalen.
More about the Clearwater from their website “In 1966, folk music legend and environmental activist Pete Seeger, in despair over the pollution of his beloved Hudson River, announced plans to “build a boat to save the river.” Seeger, along with many other concerned individuals, believed that a majestic replica of the sloops that sailed the Hudson in the 18th and 19th centuries would bring people to the river where they could experience its beauty and be moved to preserve it.”
