TankerTours for Mary Whalen’s 88th birthday

Sunday, May 31, 2026 [rescheduled from 5/23 due to rain.]

• 9am to 12pm: the ship is open for artists to sketch, paint, photograph, write, whatever.

• 12:30pm, blessing of the ship by Rev. Henry Watkins of Red Hook’s Calvary Baptist Church

• 1-5pm TankerTours: you move at will through the ship, moving from space to space and docent to docent. These are not scheduled tours.

Since we have our offices on the ship, we only open the ship interior for public tours a few times a year. This is your chance to explore our spacious galley and its diesel stove, all the bells and jingles from wheelhouse to engine room, uncommon spaces, vintage tech and social history.
